Making the Gingerbread House

In what's become an annual tradition at this point, we decorated a gingerbread house this year.  Meghan bought one at Costco which was easy to put together.  I did most of the white frosting mortar, but Joshua helped with some of the red piping for decoration, and then we all worked to put the candy on it.

Afterward, our masterpiece was complete.  It was really difficult for the kids to hold off from eating it, or the candy as they decorated, but we had a strict rule against it.

But after the house was done, and pictures were taken, we dug in.  Joshua took the ceremonial first bite, but then we all chowed down. This was an especially tasty one, with both the frosting and the gingerbread being enjoyable.
