4 ½!

Clara turned 4 ½ today. I can't believe how close to five she is. But on the other hand, she has gotten very big of late so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. She is such a performer. She also likes to direct the pretend play she does with the other kids. She is my tv kid and would probably watch it all day every day if left to her own devices. Her favorite show is Phineas and Ferb, but she will watch anything (literally anything, including the financial news. As long as it has the warm glow of tv, she's on board) She frequently gets inspiration from the shows she is allowed to watch and will say, "Let's pretend we are searching for a golden microphone like on PJ Masks". She loves singing and dancing for an audience and breaks into song frequently. She got a microphone for Christmas (like a real one with a mini amp) and she loves it still and will put on shows. She has big feelings at times and doesn't handle disappointment that well. She keeps up with Joshua. If she sees him climb something, she is going up too. This can be hard at times because he is quite  a bit larger than her, but she doesn't let her size hold her back. She is very determined and once she decides to do something, she does it. She loves art. She does not love crafts. She doesn't want to paint whatever the limitations of your mind constrain her to. She wants to create what she wants. The world is her canvas and, if given even  a small opportunity, she will write on the walls, furniture, or whatever else is available. This of course is not allowed in our house and she is only allowed to have writing utensils at the table with paper, but sometimes she sneaks them. I am not sure I will ever bring myself to scrub the "daddy" off of my hallway door frame. She generally is very affectionate and wants to please, not to say she doesn't struggle with obedience like any kid. She is 39 inches tall and weighs about 28 lbs. She is such a sweet and sparkly girl and we love her heaps.
