Early August: The Zoo

Another thing we got to do during our unseasonable cooler weather was go to the zoo. The great thing about a membership is, you go during the morning, you don't see much at all, but everyone has a great time and you don't feel guilty because you can just go again to see more.

Even though we didn't really need them, the kids still thought the misting fans were pretty much the best things ever.
The kids really wanted to ride the carousel. We have the rides membership so we rode three times. The last time, Hannah was actually willing to ride an animal, though I don't have a picture because I was holding on to her so she felt safe. She chose the giraffe because it doesn't go up and down. Baby steps.

We spent some time at the children's area.

We rode the train too.

We watched the sea lion show for awhile, but the kids weren't really into it so we moved on pretty quickly.

We spent some time in the penguin house. We saw the penguins being fed. The kids liked this electronic area where penguins are swimming on the water and you try to step on them. It's sort of like a video game that's okay to walk on.

We left in time to be home for lunch and it was a really fun morning at the zoo.
